Today I’ve moved some hollyhocks, grown from seed last summer.

They are a few inches tall, and buds have appeared so it’s the perfect time to move.

Roots are as deep as the top of the plant so it’s a good thing that the compost I bought is soft and pliable as I had to wiggle my hands in deep as if I was birthing a cow.

I’m moving these tulip bulbs and hollyhocks. I’ve saved some of the compost which I’ll mix in with the earth in situ
I’ve prepared this bed underneath some trees
