Fixing the pond

Having left the pond to settle for a couple of years, except for topping it up in summer and removing leaves that blow in there in the autumn, it is time to place some heavy stones around the border.

Today I’m tidying the edges, and adding some large stones to create a border.

This pond is 12 inches deep, to allow any fish to retreat to the bottom in colder weather, although currently this is just a wildlife pond.

A toad has visited, but mostly it’s a wildlife pond.
