Mila’s Sunflowers, part 3

I’ve changed the position of my potted sunflower, as we’ve had a couple of overcast weeks, and I want it to receive maximum sun exposure.

Sunflowers love the sun as the name, like mine, Hermione (pronounced, her-my-o-knee), which means ‘of the earth’, suggests

We have one surviving sunflower. The other has been eaten away, by snails as the tell-tale slime was glistening on the stem one morning.

  1. Ah, snails! I remember the disappointment one year of discovering that my row of baby sunflowers had all been eaten straight through the stem!
